Int'l Seminar on Iranian Poet Winds Up

SAVEH A two-day international conference in commemoration of 14th century Iranian poet Salman Savoji concluded here Thursday. At the assemblies of the conference Wednesday and Thursday 26 papers by Iranian and foreign scholars on the life and works of Salman Savoji were read, and 30 lectures were offered on various aspects of Savoji's poetry and his contribution to Iranian literature. Participants in the conference were from Iran, Egypt, China, India, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Bangladesh. Salman Savoji was contemporary with Sultan Abu-Saeed Bahador, and is noted especially for his odes.

He also wrote quatrains and other forms of poetry including mystical poems. (IRNA)
